Kinky Curly Hair Care (GEL&SERUM)

Aside from the bad experience I had ordering directly from their website, I absolutely love the Kinky Curly product line. It is my favorite product for my kinky curly 3C/4A hair. A little goes a long way and you have to be careful not to use too much gel or it can get crunchy but I love the way it defines my curls and controls frizz. The way it feels & smells is suberb and it keeps my hair under control.

I have very thick, long, coarse, curly hair, and have had trouble over the years getting it to behave. Since ordering this product my hair has been completely different! I have much less problems with frizz, spend was less time trying to curl the pieces that didn't dry correctly, and have gotten tons of complements. I've been leaving in the conditioner every time for extra moisture for my curls, and have used the custard right as I step out of the shower. Once I've put all the product in, I've been using the "plopping" technique to help my curls dry in the right shape. I'd recommend these products to anyone with unruly curls that often turn into frizz as they dry.

Best product for my curly hair! <3 in love!

Many of the reviews for this product was great. However, the product just did not live up to the hype. The leave in conditioner is too thick and leaves a sticky feel. The Custer is more of a sticky gel. It leaves flacks. I had to wash it out.

I have very frizzy, curly hair and I currently live in a humid place so there is no way of styling my hair any other way but curly. I have been struggling to find the perfect products that aren’t stiff and healthy for my hair and these are it! I love this brand and I will be ordering for life!

I’m doing the Curly Girl Method but have the additional challenge of living in literally one of the most humid locations in the US. Because of this meteorological nightmare I call home, I really need glycerine-free products otherwise I take one step outside and my hair immediately turns into a huge fuzzball. So far these products are doing a good job with curl definition and moisture without humectants. Although, it IS currently our winter and the humidity isn’t at the 95% that it’s normally at for 8mos out of the year. We’ll see what happens come April!

I had used it 3 years ago when I purchased a jar in Target and fell in love with it. I decided to try it again and noticed right away that my hair looked greasy and full of dandruff flaking. My curls shrunk into a greasy curly mass on my head and I was not fit to be seen. Shortly after applying this cream I noticed my scalp starting to become irritated and itch. I went to my shower and using the Kinky Curly shampoo, re-washed my hair. I would like to know why there is such a difference in this product than the one at Target. Will never order this again! I sniffed it before throwing it out and it smelled like granular sugar.

It came packaged efficiently with not spills or dents. But overall I don’t love the product. I like that it has ingredients that I can trust but the product is not ideal for repetitive use without regular washing. I have 4c hair and do not wash it frequently and this leaves a sticky snotty residue that must be washed out. The smell also leaves much to be desired. It smells similarly to wet baby power which wasn’t appealing to me, especially with time.
