The book is fine, however there is definitely room for improvement
I am a high school teacher and although our attendance and grades are all kept online these days, I still use this as a backup for attendance (especially if there are fire drills or subs). The book is fine, however there is definitely room for improvement. However, it is difficult to complain given the price. I have actually purchased two of these over the last couple of years.Pros:Gets the job done. Not flashy, but does what you need it to, and for the price, provides great value.Cons:If you have large class sizes like me (anything at 30 or larger) and you will run out of space on each page with no real way to expand this. The top column (long header), where I would usually write the assignment name or date, is not lined or segmented in this book, so you need to be very careful about lining it up when you write in this section to avoid confusion.Over the year, sometimes the perforations (for making the names carry over to other pages) will tear or fall apart on their own, which can cause some problems.I wish that the exterior cover of the book was another color or had a place to write the class, subject, teacher name, or year for the book. This would definitely help me to keep track of which book is for what. Currently I just stick a piece of masking tape on and write on that, but would be a nice update. Conclusion:While it may seem that there are a lot of cons, I do believe that this item is worth the money. You probably could get something nicer, but you will also probably pay more for it. Given the low cost of this item, I will probably continue to buy these over the years, unless I find something better.

Fine, But Not Without its Flaws
I used to use a different kind, but I couldn't find that easily, so I picked up this one instead. It's fine. Really. Well, mostly. It's fine.PROS Well, for starters, it works. It's got the necessary columns and rows to manually input student info as I need to do. The pages can fold over (or tear) to allow me to not have to write student names on each page. The cover has a little thickness to it, which feels durable (and I've been using it throughout the current semester, so I think its exterior durability has been tested). For what I basically needed, this fulfills the task.CONS But do the pages need to be quite this thin? They're really thin and they fold up on each other all the time. Many of the pages now have indention in them from where they folded over. I had some problems with pages sticking together when I first started using it (though it's been broken in now). I haven't had a tearing issue, but they feels really likely at some point. It's just harder to work with. And the boxes for daily attendance and assignments are, I think, too large. In other roll books, I'd be able to layout attendance for a three-day-a-week class on two facing pages. The boxes are so big, I can't do that. I have to move on the next page. This isn't a huge deal, but it is going to mean that I go through this book faster than I had hoped. That's annoying. So, I needed something, and this was basically what I needed. It could have been better, but since it fulfilled my basic needs, I can't be too mad about it.

Practical & Durable
This is a very sturdy product. You can tell that it has been made with better materials than the average roll book. Aside from the excellent construction, the best feature (in my opinion) is that you can customize the pages. It's very nice to pencil in the dates and names on my own. I don't feel restricted or forced to use information that has already been printed. I completely filled one of these roll books over the past 8 years and it didn't fall apart or show any significant signs of wear, which is why I recently bought another one to start all over again.

Excellent for keeping a permanent record.
I have written down so many names in my new permanent record. Nothing will be forgotten now.

Compact & easy to carry around
I use this book to take roll in discussion sections (I am a teaching assistant at a university). It's very small and thin because it is not spiral-bound, and it lays flat for writing. The only weird thing about the book is that the first page when you open the book doesn't have any spaces to write student names, because the book is intended to be used with two facing pages open together (see picture). That page in other roll books has a place to write teacher name and contact info, so I guess you could use it for that, but it is basically printed with the same grid that is on all the right-side pages. Doesn't bother me, but a good thing to know before you buy.

grade book via Amazon
I teach college and like a certain type of gradebook (class record book):9 1/4" X 5 1/4" -- with thin lines and thin columns. I could no longer buy such a gradebook in the stores, and even my local stationery store was reluctant to order it for me. The gradebook I purchased through Amazon has fewer sheets than the ones I am used to -- (alas) -- but it is what I wanted otherwise. I am grateful to Amazon for making this item available to me. It was delivered promptly. I like the grade book and am very satisfied overall.

Ideal for College/University Teaching
This is the standard hard copy roll and grade book at the college where I teach; it has been for decades. Most of us use one side of the two-fold page for grades, and the other for roll. It’s ideal for college/university level teaching, as a backup to online roll and grade book programs.

Great book!
I have bought this book 2 times thus far and it has not failed me. It allows to keep track of all my grades for the entire school year. It also saves me time because I do not have to rewrite the names of the students in my class for every subject I teach. Looks amazing as well
