The stock photo makes them look dingy. However, the color is rather white in person. The surface isn’t blemish free. There are a couple of small imperfections on the two that I got. The foam protection did its job because they came without crack or being broken.I bought them to be used as watercolor mixing palettes. The ridge makes the color stay inside and good to rid off excess paint from brushes. I match the whiteness to porcelain palettes I have and the hue is very similar. Because these are soap stands, there’s some weight to them therefore they are not as travel friendly. As mixing palettes, these are space savers if your painting table isn't spacious.

These are convenient to use as small palettes when mixing and preparing paints for watercolor. I bought two and really liked them, so bought two more. That's when I discovered the quality is inconsistent. The first two were perfect, while the second two had pits in the glaze. It was more trouble than it was worth to return them, so I used them anyway and they have worked okay.The weight of porcelain is nice because they stay put while mixing. They are deep enough that I can mix up a good pool of paint to use with a large brush. They clean up well, even with the pitting.I would consider buying them again if the need arose.

I bought this to use as a small palette to mix watercolors. It works wonderfully. It is a pure white color (not grayish) and watercolor paint removes easily from the porcelain surface when cleaning. Also, the edges are high enough to wipe off excess water from my brush while I’m painting. The bottom is mostly glazed except for the tiny area along the bottom ridge. Very happy to have found these porcelain “palettes”.

The product was well packaged. Size and shape were exactly what I wanted. The quality of the glazing was not as expected. There were many inconsistencies in color on both dishes and one had imperfections causing a few place to have a small bubble or raised area so it wasn’t totally flat and smooth. Debating exchanging to see if another set may have fewer flaws. Since both were flawed I’m skeptical another set would be better.
