Rough and slightly uneven paper just off white. Takes lots of water very well and due to the natural rough texture suits fluid styles very well. The decal edge also looks great (better than my paintings!). I have found this a really enjoyable paper to continue my watercolour development - it is not at all expensive and if you are looking for a paper that will support a loose style where you are using a lot of water to blend colours for different effects, this could be an excellent buy.

This is the luxury brand as far as watercolour and mixed media goes. Works well with all WC brands and acrylic inks. Can't fault it.Works out better value to go for A3 and cut paper down to size. Sews well and takes stencils well.

I'm enjoying experimenting with this paper. It takes lots of water but it's not the most durable paper as it disintegrates with too much working. Good for the price.

Reasonably priced paper, nice texture but not too much.

So for context I usually use the 2 big brands and was looking for an alternative. I have heard a lot about this paper and wanted to try it out. It really does look very nice, has personality and is lovely on it’s own. However, it is very difficult to paint on it as it doesn’t seem to take water well at all. The water ond paint just beads up and sits on top. Wet on wet works better but you really need to let the water sit for some time before it gets into the paper. It also buckles quite a bit and the paper surface damages relatively easily. I will try to stretch it before use but for now it looks like I will be using it only for warm-up exercises.
