Terrific Weber GBS compatible Beer Can chicken roasting tray
The media could not be loaded. I bought this on sale but even back up to its normal price of £20, it's still significantly cheaper than the Weber Beer Can Chicken BBQ tray for the 57cm Weber Kettle Charcoal BBQ (which is around £60 for essentially the same function). It fits precisely in the GBS attachment in the middle of my Mastertouch BBQ and is very robust - no leaks from filling the beer in the middle, the handles are also sturdy and this is important as the last thing you want is a mishap when removing it from your BBQ after cooking. The surface is non-stick although I did add a little olive oil before using on the BBQ but it also dishwasher safe.. To cook, get the temperature up to 200 degrees on the BBQ - I use indirect heat fuel arrangement around the outside of the BBQ. Next, fill the recepticle in the middle of the tray with beer of choice and season the meat (you can use cider or drink of your choice) Next the chicken takes a seat atop the beer filled tray. I also used with some Weber Beech chips for a subtle smokey flavour. With the temperature stable in your BBQ you can add this to the middle on the Weber GBS. Perfect fit and easy to drop in. About an hour into the cook I then added chopped vegetables for roasting - carrots and potatoes. In total about 1hr 45 minutes the results were incredible. Amazing flavour and perfectly cooked food! I would highly recommend this if you have a Mastertouch GBS BBQ or even without, its excellent little bit of kit.

Just amazing! The surprising success of our summer
With much skepticism and encouragement from the kids we lit the charcoal BBQ. Chicken rubbed down with a range of spices and arranged in a rather alarming pose upon a beer filled Diet Coke can. Honestly - after leaving the bird cooking for an hour we expected to lift the BBQ lid to a externally charcoaled bird with dangerously raw meat just under the burnt skin. HOWEVER! We were wrong! The bird was cooking beautifully and after about 1.5 hours cooking it was glorious. Kids pronounced it the best chicken ever. It will go down as one of the most surprising success stories in our family, but we look forward to using this well designed piece of kit lots. We also placed raw potatoes around the bottom of the Chuck. These were devoured with relish and had a lovely texture and flavour. Great value for money, fab design. All in a product that makes me smile

Proof of pudding in the eating
Was not sure if this would be a one-off meal but glad to be proved wrong. Tried it out with the cheapest supermarket chicken I could find with a tin of cheap pale ale and a lemon and herb rub. Placed in the middle of a three burner bbq with the middle burner off at 250 C for 90 minutes. The best tasting chicken I have had, roast or bbq, extremely succulent and tasty. Completely sold on this method of cooking and will not be having oven roasted chicken again (well perhaps with exception of frosty days).Cleaning the dish is easy in the dishwasher but the non-stich finished allowed most residue to the washed off .The bbq took much longer to clean as the chicken spits out fat and juices which end up on the grids and sides.Four star rating for advertising as stainless steel which does not appear correct. No mention of stainless on the packaging, is coated with black substance, probably Teflon and rings like carbon steel. Otherwise would be five stars.

Great chicken roaster!!!
Used the chicken roaster for the first time today on the BBQ. It was perfect, so easy to fill the centre with the drink of your choice and to balance the chicken. The juices were collected in the pan for easy, no mess disposal! Cleaned well. All in all a great purchase highly recommended.

Great chicken!
I am just getting into doing more bbq'ing and heard great things about making beer can chicken. When I saw this, and for a good price, i thought why not.it does feel a little flimsy but the chicken was amazing delicious. the roaster also catches the chicken juices which you can use for stock/ gravy. Also as it has a non stick coating it was so easy to clean! Apparently you can use it in the oven too - i havent tried this yet but will be doing so soon!Highly recommended!

Your life is incomplete with out one. A must have for super moist chicken.
Although the title says beer can, water and a stock cube works as well. Great product, some others are open grid or flimsy. This is solid and the can unscrews for cleaning.

Love it but
...delighted but will not fit under hood of smaller weber even with a tesco small chick. I have used it on my bigger bbq and it does turn out a lovely bird. Because of steam inside pushing flavours out, you get a succulent chicken without that full on bbq flavour. room for herbs too. Hence well deserved 5 stars. And not to forget you can do your roasties at the same time.

Cooks chicken well but is hard to clean completely
The first one I had ordered was broken. So got a replacement one. This cos the chicken beautifully and the large tray let's you roast your vegetables at the same time. The one problem I have is that no matter how well I clean it, I can never fully get it cleaned between the cup the chicken is placed on and the pan. I noticed this by accidentally heating it up and seeing all the grease come out from the gap.
