AMD Ryzensets 7 9700X Processor (8 Cores/16 Threads) 65W DTP, AM5 socket, 40MB Cache, Up to 5.5 GHz max boost frequency, no cooler

decided to upgrade my 5800x to the 9700x and although on paper its not much of an upgrade (same core and thread count and a smallish clock bump) it really dose feel like an upgrade. the new system responds faster (much improved IPC) it has a snappiness to it that is pleasant to use. the CPU also runs cooler than my 5800x and uses less power. it has been an investment you do need an AM5 motherboard and DDR5 ram. the item arrived well packaged and in good condition. installation was simple (be sure your motherboard has a compatible bios) and i have had Zero stability issues and my RAM runs at 6000mts. I am happy with my purchase would buy again.

Good value for money, got it on sale.Runs a bit hotter than other CPU'S but easy to keep it around that. Don't have a ridiculous setup at all, only a 240mm aio and it works well.

The AMD Ryzen 7 9700x is a fantastic processor. Now is it good as the 7000x3D, counterparts? No it’s not, but it does keep up well and the differences can be quite minimal from my experience. The CPU, runs cool and boosts well. Additionally has a much better memory controller than its, 7000 series counterparts. So you can achieve stable and coherent ram overlock. Mine is stable at 7000 MTS. Which is blazing fast, and with the faster ram you notice a sizeable difference in FPS. Additionally, it works well with a range of GPUs. I currently, use a RTX 4080 Super. They appear to be happily working together. I have tested it with an RX 7700XT and above.I will say the con is the price, but it will undoubtedly drop in price. Overall I really like this processor, works well and does what you need it to do. I will advise, that you will need to enable PBO in the motherboard bios to get the full potential of this chip or any 9000 series chip. But there are plenty of YouTube tutorials that can support with that.I hope this mini review helps and clears up some of the mystery of the 9000 series chips.

Arrived in good condition. Was easy to install. All pwoered up fine. I'm not using it for gaming or anyhting serious right now so its keeping plenty cool enough and the CPU fan I installed is not running fast at all.No complaints about performance although I have combined it with a fiarly decent set of other componnets too.Recomended for the price.

Awesome processor. Fast and easy to install. It doesn't come with a cooler, so you have to buy a CPU cooler to go with it. I used Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE, which is quiet and easy to install.

The media could not be loaded. First off, this cpu isn't half bad. When looking for good performance that can handle any game (with the right gpu) this cpu can be sufficient. It's only when you compare this cpu to it's predecessor and the x3ds that buying this cpu doesn't make a lot of sense.When you take into account other cpus, like the Ryzen 7 7700X, priced at around 260 ish, buying this cpu doesn't make a lot of sense. This is because, for the most part, straight out of the box the Ryzen 7 7700X (the predecessor) performs on average the same, if in some cases slightly better. At around 50ish gbp cheaper. Now, as far as I'm aware the whole reason why this cpu was actually released was beacause of the negative reviews AMD recieved for the 7000s series being so hot. This cpu does keep it cool, drawing only 65 W from straight out of the box, which matches the performance of the 7700X.Now, there is a feature that enables you to draw more power to the cpu, if you enable the pbo option in the BIOS. When you do this, the cpu performs (I think around 10-15% better) then it originally did. This is good as it gives it a significant performance increase, which (I think) outperforms it's predeccesor. However, this does make the cpu run hotter, maybe not as hot as the Ryzen 7 7700X, but still in the mid 70s to the mid 80s (from what I've tested - Cinebench r24).Now should you buy this cpu?If the price stays at around 300 gpb, then personally, unless you use the feature that enables more power to be drawn, then I'd stick with the Ryzen 7 7700X as you're getting roughly the same performance for cheaper. (You would have to do a bit more research into the performance difference after you draw more power, compared to the Ryzen 7 7700X). If the price drops to the same price as the 7700X, then I'd say go for it, it's all around a good cpu and it's more efficient in power and core usage (I think) for a decent price. If you wanted to gain the best performance (exluding the 9800x3d, if you can find one then I'd get one of those instead lol) then I'd say spend the extra 100gpb ish and get the 7800x3d, it also has the 3d cache which will help future proof your system.In conclusion, this is a good cpu but I don't think it's particularly good value, as you can definetly find better deals on the 7700X and the 7800x3d, which perform the same or better in games, but all round, this cpu is good and does perform well (it just doesn't really fit in).EXTRA: I've also read that the RAM speed compatibility on this cpu is better than the 7700X, as overclocking your speeds is more stable when using the 9700X, which can be useful for many reasons.

It was time to rebuild my old PC as it was 13 years old with very few changes since the original build and so wanted a reasonable CPU without spending a ridiculous amount of money and this fit the bill quite nicely.The 9700X has 8 cores / 16 threads and powers through any of the tasks I need it too without problem. The CPU doesn't require a huge power supply. It is fairly light on power consumption compared to some other CPUs on the market.When paired with an AM5 motherboard it is very simple to install. Just slip into the CPU slot and secure in place.The processors base speed is 3.8GHz and it boosts upto 5.5GHz for those more demanding tasks.It doesn't need an overly large CPU cooler to keep the CPU temperatures under control. With that said I was able to reuse my old CPU cooler (the manufacturer supplies updated mounting brackets for AM5 specifications).So far I haven't had any problems with it and it has performed excellently in all tasks given to it.

Lovely performance, incredibly fast, works smooth , doesn't get overheated, matches with my set up perfectly and is great for gaming, really happy with the performance. For my needs (FH5, COD, GTA5 and other games) it has capacity to handle them all easily.Overall very happy with my purchase and highly recommended, my bf has i7 14 gen and wants to switch to AMD immediately since it's performing much better.
